Microsoft Windows 7 is now on sale. From Thursday 22nd October Windows 7 has been available to purchase and brings many benefits to the Windows user.
Security
Windows 7 provides added security features from the already extremely secure Windows Vista. These include enhancements to the core security technologies of event auditing, User Account Control, security enhanced storage devices and improved authentication experiences when connecting to other network devices.
Compatibility
Windows 7 has been developed with compatibility in mind so enables applications previously designed for Windows XP to run in a Windows XP virtual environment.
Speed
Windows 7 has made significant performance improvements in how your computer starts up, shuts down and resumes from standby compared to earlier versions of Windows. Search and indexing are also faster, and you can take advantage of external USB flash memory drives to increase performance further.
Reliability
Windows 7 includes many reliability improvements to maintain a fault tolerant system. One being the Network Hang Diagnostics so it detects a network hang situation, resolves it and keeps the machine functioning in the same way so the user can carry on working unaffected by the hang
