2021 is the year we have decided to formalise and structure our community involvement. After a very enjoyable session helping with sour fig clearing on the cliffs at Les Tielles in September last year, we have decided to really focus on lending our support to Guernsey Conservation Volunteers throughout this year.
We have started 2021 with a socially distanced Stage 2 of lockdown clearing of dense brambles around Bordeaux Nature Reserve, to allow trees planted many years ago by the States of Guernsey to once again flourish.
As our programme of community commitment continues, we are looking at how we can support our staff (whilst still looking after our clients!) to volunteer during working hours if there is a project where we can make an environmental difference.
We are also a part of the ESI Monitor programme which is dedicated to facilitating environmental sustainability and community involvement within the business sector. We have recently been benchmarked and evaulated for the Environmental Business Operations Framework which we are now working towards and have also submitted our accreditation for the Community Champion Award.
