Matt Le Prevost, one of our Systems Engineers, has passed the industry-recognised Server+ Certification, validating his skills with the most commonly used server and storage systems in the IT industry. Holders of the certification are described by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), providers of the qualification, as ‘demonstrating an impressive knowledge base.’
Matt said: ' There is a definite focus to increasing efficiencies through IT systems which includes virtualisation - creating a virtual computer hardware, platform storage devices and computer network resources. The certification means I am trained to work with a variety of hardware, meaning I am able to work with each business and their IT needs, no matter how different they may be.’
He continued: 'I took the exam at Highlands College in Jersey and in the lead up to it, was spending several hours each week, including two day’s study leave given to me by Resolution IT, in preparation. It's great all the hard work has paid off and I feel it enables me to support our clients' individual and sometimes complex IT needs even better.'
Olly Duquemin, Joint Managing Director said: 'Developments in the technology industry are continual and rapid and it is vital we keep our staff trained and fully certified. As a trusted extension of our clients' own IT departments, we can give them security of mind that our staff working on their projects are the highest trained and qualified. It's also good business practice for us; there is definitely a skills shortage of well-qualified and experienced IT staff on the island so we are keen to retain and train the best there is.'
