We hope everyone's June is off to a flying start. May certainly whizzed by in a flash and those few short weeks were definitely a welcome treat.
Highlights in May included the prize giving ceremony for the Resolution IT Design a Gadget Competition, an alternative transport challenge and a brilliant podcast debut from our Information Security Consultant, Nick Robilliard.
More on all of that below...
Alternative Transport Month
Throughout May, the Resolution IT team took part in an alternative transport challenge. With 13 of us taking to our bikes, catching the bus or walking to work, we were able to clock an impressive 1157 green miles to and from the office!
Design a Gadget
We were delighted to award the winners of the Resolution IT Design a Gadget Competition at the end of May. With over 300 amazing entries to choose from, it was definitely difficult to choose the winners! We awarded seven prizes in total, in addition to a £500 donation to Hautes Capelles Primary School for submitting the highest percentage of entries.
A huge thank you to everyone who entered and got involved in this fun competition!

Careers
We had a brilliant morning at The Guernsey Institute's careers fair earlier in May. It was a great opportunity to speak to students who are looking to begin their career journey and explain all the different cogs that make up a company like ours. With Amy talking all things admin, Corey providing some insight into life on the service desk, Dave explaining his software development role, and Tove speaking about life behind the scenes, we hope we showed the students that there's a lot more to a career in IT than you might think.
We were delighted to welcome Dan Hunter, Programme Leader for Computing at The Guernsey Institute, to our offices this week to learn more about the work that we do at Resolution IT. We have taken on a number of previous students as part of our continued commitment to Guernsey, so this has been a great opportunity for both parties to learn more about the work that each other do.
Work anniversaries
This month we celebrated Dave Wratten's 3 year anniversary, and Luke Greeno's 2 years. Congratulations on meeting those milestones!

And continuing the theme of information security, our Senior Information Security Consultant, James Ogier, wrote a brilliant piece detailing the benefits of a vCISO and explaining the importance of prioritising your business security. You can read that here.
