Things got a lot chillier this month and as we approach Christmas, we're beginning to feel a little festive. We've had more colleague certifications to celebrate, a great team social, some company milestones and a load of client updates this month. Read on to find out more.
Let's begin with our company updates. Our service delivery team are in the process of providing Self-Service Password Reset Portals to some of our clients that have the system configuration to allow them to have this option. The feature enables enrolled users the ability to recover their own password using a self-service online portal, which is especially useful when you have been away from the office for a while, such as after returning from holiday. This will make it easier and more secure to recover these passwords without having to log a ticket, saving time. Get in touch with your usual Resolution IT account manager to find out more.
Many clients will have received emails from us regarding price increases due to Microsoft increasing the price of their services, necessary security upgrades and system improvements. If you have any questions surrounding this, please contact your account manager.
We have also introduced a bi-monthly client newsletter this month, which will be emailed to clients and distributed physically during client meetings. These will provide any client updates, company highlights and industry news. Our client relationships are very important to us and as our business continues to grow and get busier, we want to ensure our communication channels remain strong and clients are kept in the loop with everything Resolution IT. The printed version is produced using 100% recycled paper and is fully recyclable. Please recycle your copy after use.
Bright Tights Day
Bright Tights Day was earlier in November, so we took the opportunity to don our gaudiest tights and bake our tastiest treats to raise money for the Bright Tights charity. We had an absolute feast in the office and the battle of the brownies was too close to call! Fancy a rematch, bakers?
Our New Values
Towards the beginning of the month, we launched our new company values. Based on a series of 'Values Discovery' sessions that the team have been taking part in over the past year, we worked out what values are most important to all of us as individuals. With the significant growth we've seen over the last few years, we felt it was time to redefine our company values to ensure they were fully representative of us as a team. With that in mind, the new values that encapsulate Resolution IT both as a company and as a community, are as follows; Passion, Commitment, Excellence, Integrity and Respect. You can read more about our new values here.
We had two great exam successes this month, with Cole Osborne achieving his PRINCE2 Foundation Certification and Nick Girauld passing his AZ-900 exam.
The PRINCE2 Foundation exam aims to measure project management skills using PRINCE2 methodology. In achieving this qualification, Cole has shown a comprehensive understanding of the principles and terminology of the method, in particular, the seven principles, themes and processes and the relationships between processes, deliverables, roles and the management dimensions of a project.
In passing his AZ-900 exam, Nick demonstrates foundational knowledge of cloud services and how those services are provided with Microsoft Azure, as well as a proven knowledge of cloud concepts, Azure services, Azure workloads, security and privacy in Azure and Azure pricing and support.
Both certifications accelerate the skills and ability that Cole and Nick bring to their client service, increasing their technical expertise and adding to the Resolution IT toolbelt. Congratulations both!
We celebrated four staff milestones this month, with Jon Grantham and Joanna Penney reaching their 5 year anniversaries, Josh Nelson celebrating 3 years and Simon Le Pelley hitting his one year with Resolution IT. Congratulations guys!
Socials-wise, we had a team get together at the start of the month for pizza and drinks at the office, before heading into town for a few more. It's always great to get the team together and it's important that everyone gets to know each other outside of a work setting, especially with our recent flurry of new joiners. The team spirit was in full force and there were definitely a few sore heads the next morning!
Speaking of new joiners, let's welcome Shaun Bigeard, Joshua Vidamour and Joe Wilkinson to the team! Shaun and Joshua join us as Technicians and Joe joins as a Client Services Executive. Joshua and Shaun will be reinforcing on our busy service desk, assisting our growing client base with any issues, queries or support. As our client network has grown, Joe will be acting as an extra port of call to our clients, working on events and entertainment and managing client accounts and communications. Welcome on board!
November's Colleague of the month is Amy Ryan, nominated for helping everyone on countless occasions, always finding a solution – even when faced with a difficult task, and doing it all with a smile. Demonstrating the company values of Commitment, Passion and Integrity, it’s always a pleasure to work with Amy. Congratulations Amy and thank you for being a ray of sunshine in the office!
Sadly, as COVID restrictions come into place to keep everyone safe on the run up to Christmas, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming Modern Bytes session that was sceduled for 7 December. Our Modern Bytes series will continue in the New Year, so keep an eye out on your emails for your invitation. It's important that we all take the necessary precautions to keep each other safe, so as well as taking lateral flow tests multiple times a week, we are also working from home where possible.
We hope that everyone’s December gets off to a flying start and we wish you a healthy and happy festive period.
